Yes, cast iron bollards are considerably heavier than steel equivalents, which contributes to their solid, traditional appearance and stability. They're usually root-fixed into a concrete foundation, and their weight means installation often needs suitable lifting equipment on site. Bolt-down options exist for some ranges where a surface fixing is more practical.
