Our most frequently asked questions for Shopping Trolleys
What sizes do supermarket shopping trolleys come in?
Our trolleys range from compact models of around 25 to 60 litres, ideal for convenience stores, farm shops and delis where space is tight, up to full-size trolleys of 100 litres and above for larger supermarkets. If you are not sure which capacity suits your store and aisle widths, tell us your setting and we will recommend a size.
Do your shopping trolleys have child seats?
Yes. Our larger trolleys include a fold-down child seat with a safety strap, which suits supermarkets and family-focused stores. The compact models are designed for quick shops and generally do not have a seat. The product options show which models include one.
What are the trolleys made from?
Most of our trolleys are made from zinc-plated or coated steel for strength and corrosion resistance, and we also stock lightweight plastic-bodied trolleys that are quieter and easy to keep clean. Steel suits heavy daily use; plastic suits smaller stores wanting a lighter, low-maintenance option.
Do the trolleys nest together for storage?
Yes. Our supermarket trolleys are designed to nest into one another, so a row of trolleys takes up far less space than the total when parked in a bay or trolley shelter. This keeps entrances tidy and makes collection quicker for staff.
Can trolleys be supplied in custom colours or with branding?
On larger orders we can supply trolleys in custom colours and add handle branding to match your store, which is popular with multi-site retailers. Standard stock colours ship faster. Let us know your quantity and requirements and we will confirm what is possible and the lead time.
Do the trolleys take a coin lock?
Several of our trolleys can be fitted with a coin-return lock system, which encourages customers to return trolleys to the bay and cuts down on strays. It is an optional extra rather than standard, so tell us if you want it included when you order.
Are the wheels suitable for outdoor and car park use?
Yes. Our trolleys run on four castors built to cope with car park surfaces, ramps and thresholds, with swivel wheels for easy steering. For sloped sites you may also want a trolley bay or wheel brake, and we can advise on the best setup for your layout.
