This is our Economy Open Front 8 cycle shelter, 3.3m length x 2.1m depth.

Ideal for when quality needs to be high and budgets are low. Our most popular shelter, manufactured from 50mm x 50mm steel strongbox section. This unit has a choice of 3mm or 5mm high quality Pet-G UV2 Roof/Back sheeting, and an option to choose end panels for improved weather protection. Your choice of either above or below ground fixing is available at no extra cost. A number of finish options allows you to match this shelter to your needs and budget.

50mm x 50mm strongbox section for the shelter framework, with options for Galvanised finish, powder coat finish, or galvanised and powder coated finish. High specification UV2 PetG sheeting is supplied as standard, available in both 3mm and 5mm options.

A cycle shelter is an open-sided or part-clad structure that gives bikes cover from the weather, while a compound adds full perimeter fencing and a lockable gate for secure, controlled access. Many sites start with a basic shelter and add compound fencing later. Which you need depends on footfall, site security and whether cycles are left overnight.

Do cycle shelters need planning permission?

Often not, as most cycle shelters fall under permitted development, but this depends on the site, its size and location. Listed buildings, conservation areas and larger structures are more likely to need consent. Check with your local planning authority before ordering, and ask us if you'd like drawings to support an application.

Are cycle shelters supplied self-assembly or installed?

Both options are available. Shelters can be delivered as a self-assembly kit with fixings and instructions for your own contractor, or we can arrange installation. Self-assembly suits sites with in-house maintenance teams, while installed options are useful where groundworks or a concrete base are also needed. Let us know your preference when ordering.

What materials are cycle shelters made from?
