The Blencoe Eco Smoking Shelter & Vape Hut

The Blencoe is a free-standing, open-fronted smoking and vaping shelter with a curved steel roof and clear side panels. It's a tough, low-maintenance option for workplaces, industrial estates, pubs and public sites, where people need a proper covered spot to smoke or vape outside.

• Frame: galvanised mild steel, 50mm x 50mm box section
• Roof: 1mm galvanised steel sheet, curved side to side
• Panels: 4mm clear PETG. Tough and shatter-resistant
• Fixing: surface mounted (140 x 140 x 10mm flange plates, 4 bolts each) or root fixed
• Delivery: free to England, Wales and Southern Scotland. Supplied for on-site assembly

Is the Blencoe compliant with UK smoking law?

It's designed to meet the 50% rule in the Smoke-free (Premises and Enforcement) Regulations 2006. The front is fully open, and the back and side panels don't run full height, so less than half of the walls are enclosed. Don't add extra panels, and don't fit it hard against a wall, as either can make it "substantially enclosed". As the site owner, you're responsible for making sure the finished installation complies.

Can it be used as a vape shelter?

Yes. It works as a smoking shelter, a vape hut, or both. If you'd rather keep smokers and vapers apart, ask us about a price for two.

Surface mounted or root fixed?

Surface mounted bolts down onto existing concrete, paving or tarmac. Root fixed is concreted into the ground, which is better for soft ground or permanent sites. Both options are the same price.

Where should I put it?

Keep it away from doorways, opening windows and air intakes. Council guidance commonly recommends leaving about 1.5m between the shelter and any wall or other structure. Some councils say smoking shelters need planning permission, so check with your local council first.
