CarStop Stainless Steel Rail – Low Level Trolley & Cart Protection
The CarStop Stainless Steel Rail is a premium low-level protection system engineered to defend building entrances, glazing lines, and perimeter walls from shopping trolley and cart impact. Combining robust 304-grade stainless steel construction with a sleek satin polish finish, it delivers industrial-strength protection without compromising on aesthetics.
Fully modular in design, the CarStop rail system is equally at home in busy retail environments, supermarkets, car parks, loading bays, and commercial facilities. Whether surface-mounted or potted into the floor, the system adapts to your site requirements and provides a finished, professional appearance that stands up to daily punishment.
Key Features:
- Fully modular construction for flexible planning and installation
- 50mm diameter, 14swg Grade 304 stainless steel tube
- Satin polish 240 grit finish for a clean, modern look
- Surface-fixed or potted support foot options
- Finished height 165–205mm above finished floor level
- Corrosion-resistant – suitable for internal and external use
- Joining spigots and 90° corner sections available for complete runs
- Stainless steel end caps to neatly terminate each run
Ideal Applications:
Designed for installation at entrance lobbies, along glazing lines, perimeter walls, and customer entrances where protection from shopping trolleys and carts is required. Also suitable for warehouses, retail stockrooms, and any high-traffic commercial space.
Performance Criteria:
Engineered to withstand repeated impact from customer trolleys and deflect force away from vulnerable structures, reducing costly repair bills and extending the life of your premises.
Installation Guidelines:
- Maximum 100mm from wall/glazing to back of extrusion
- Floor mounted using M10 x 80mm expandable rawlshields and bolts
- Leg centres typically 1.5 metres apart
- Top rail height typically 165mm above finished floor level
- Mark floor with chalk line; position base flanges parallel to the rail run
- Floor-mounted slide-through legs require a concrete base or slab – do not install into blockwork or tarmac
For potted legs: core drill a hole 150mm wide x 200mm deep, backfill with concrete, and push the potted leg into place before the concrete sets.
Joining spigots are required to connect rail lengths together, along with corner sections for directional changes.
